Depends on the motivation, I guess? My friends and I have watched porn together for the lolz, but if you're watching it to actively get off on it, that might be a little awkward unless you and your friends are exceptionally chill about that sort of thing.

Regardless, I'm not sure this would help the OP, anyway - their problem has to do with seeing their porn characters in a non-porn context. Even if their friends knew about it and watched with them, there's still a good chance that they'll still try to get OP to watch the canon.
