I sort of feel this way too. I read really ooc and fetish-heavy femslash all over ao3 for like a million fandoms, because I know if I read it for my own fandoms I'd be irked by how ooc it was. So then I never want to get into whatever fandom it is because I'll always remember reading a fic full of weird kinks about that character.
