But... if we're talking about the MCU... wouldn't the MCU's relationships the ones that count.

Because if we go by 616, yes, at one point Tony and Steve are/were good friends, Tony and Bruce have a horrible relationship since Tony send Bruce into space, Thor hates Tony, Pepper/Tony isn't canon, but Pepper/Happy are, Clint is divorced/widowed/pining after Wanda, and Tony slept with Maria Hill. And all that happened when Nick Fury was white.

Seriously, if we talk about MCU, then the relationships that matter are MCU. Because each universe is very different. I mean, in Ultimates if I remember correctly, that claims that Hulk is a cannibal monster, Tony is dying of cancer, and Steve is a massive homophobic prick, while in 616 they have issues but none are that bad.

I thought we agreed to never talk about the Ultimates universe again

I'm sorry, my bad.
I try to forget but I keep having flashbacks to the awfulness...

It...it'll be okay. One day we will heal. Just stay strong

Thank you. I like to stick to just one canon, personally, so if I'm meshing MCU with comics, you can bet I'm dragging all that shit it there. Picking and choosing stuff from what is basically another universe to discredit a ship is pretty much stupid.

Exactly.

Also, I think that trying to write a ship logically using all the different universe's canons would've impossible. No two characters have the same interactions, not even the ones that are canonically OTPs like MJ/Peter, Jane/Scott, Bruce/Betty or Thor/Jane.
