5. I was nodding my head along with you until you started bashing twincest. I can understand why you don't like it and I understand what it's like being in a fandom where a popular pairing isn't one you like, but fans are allowed to ship whatever pairing they want and it doesn't matter what you think. Honestly I have nothing to do with the fandom these days (even when I was interested, I only lurked) and it's not my favourite pairing but now I want to post some twincest just because it'd piss you off so much.

21. Sheik is female though. She's Zelda in disguised. You can't really compare her to Peter Pan since one is a male character and one is a female pretending to be male to protect herself. A better comparison for Sheik would be Samus from the Metroid series since that's another case where the character was thought to be male at first but turned out to be female. Or do you also get your panties in a wad when people call Samus a girl?

"You can't really compare her to Peter Pan since one is a male character and one is a female pretending to be male to protect herself." This is truth, and that is not what I'm arguing here. I'm saying Peter, on stage, is usually played by a female. That doesn't mean Peter isn't a dude. It just means there is a chick in the dude suit. Zelda is a chick in a dude suit, and when people refer to Sheik as "her" or "she" it DOES get my panties in a twist, because Zelda is playing a male character, and the least anyone can do is acknowledge that and stop pretending the role of Sheik is that of a Sheikah girl just because he turned out to have a vagina in the end. If Zelda were Mary Martin and Sheik was Peter Pan, NOONE would call Sheik a girl regardless as to Zelda's plumbing, so why do they do it at all?

Samus is a chick playing a chick in a suit that makes her sex/gender easily confused. But as far as my knowledge of the series goes (extremely limited), she doesn't go out of her way to assume the personality of a male.

Zelda isn't playing a character in a play though, she's simply pretending to be a male. Why is it such a bad thing that a cool character turned out to be female?

As for Samus, yes like with Sheik, the series went out of it's way to make the player think that Samus was male. It was a big surprise at the end of the first game when it's revealed that Samus is a girl.

Mary Martin pretended to be a boy named Peter on stage in a play. Zelda pretended to be a boy named Sheik to save her life. I don't see where the big difference is.

I'm not saying Zelda and Sheik are seperate people, because they're not. I'm not that kind of fangirl. I'm just saying when she puts on the Sheik suit, she wants to be treated as a boy, because it makes the disguise that much more convincing. If she wanted to be treated as a particularly kick-ass girl, she would disguise herself as a particularly kick-ass girl. See: WindWaker (only not really because Tetra didn't know, but I hope my point is made.)

Maybe that makes me a nerd to think of things from Zelda's point of view, but if she wanted people to think she was a guy, I'm going to call Sheik a guy, even if I know it's Zelda inside.

Because one is an actress and one is not.

HOWEVER, I now get what you're saying about that Zelda herself wants to be viewed as a man when she's dressed as Sheik.

And I'm sorry because I did think you were one of those fans who think that Zelda and Sheik are two different people and I overreacted.
