Kind of OT but I don't think FFXII was that easy; I think it was actually a bit of a throwback to the days of harder games. (I know that some people, used to the games getting progressively easier, were shocked that you had to actually grind in FFXII.) FFX would be a better example.

...but then, I'm someone who started with FFX and then went back and played everything (except for FFT or FFTA) from FFIV on up, using emulators when necessary, so I may have a bit of a skewed perception.

Maybe I was just way better at FFXII's battle system, then, than with the other ones. I didn't think FFX was extremely easier than the playstation FF games, though the SNES FF games regularly hand my ass back to me. FFXII was the first one I had absolutely no difficulty with at any part.

Fuck, I can beat the shit out of Zeromus and DoomGaze with my eyes closed, but I've yet to beat FFXII because of the ass-kicking parts of it give me. As long as I grind, I'm fine, but if I just race through like I always do in FF games (I made it to Kefka's Tower at level 30 the first time, no joke), then it hands my lily ass to me.

Zeromus tears me into little shreds. xD I hate that guy. I race through the games too, I really only do the plot and then run from random encounters. I'm usually around lvl 35 or so when I make it to any given final boss, and then I have to grind my way up to being able to beat them.

I only did the story parts of FFXII, not the hunts or other stuff, but I beat the final boss on my first try for the first time with any FF game(if you don't count FFX's, since you can't lose). Maybe I'm some sort of freak. xD I thought the game was so easy compared to all the others.

Yeah, so far I've done nothing but (lackluster) storyline, just beat up Balthier's dad and I think my main party's around 40. I don't know, maybe I've had so much difficulty because I didn't figure out Quickenings until about five days ago.
