Julia S. used to be a knockout. She then became somewhat of a cautionary tale - try and keep that weight off, kids!

Oh, shut up. She was gorgeous then and she's gorgeous now.

Funny - I thought she continued to be a fantastic actor...guess I missed that edition of Hilaire Belloc...

Kenny!!!! *sobs*

If ever Moffat pulls his head out of his ass for long enough to write and make a PG continuation (never ever going to happen, I know, but can't a girl dream?), I would need to see Kenny balancing out Lynda. I really appreciated that totally platonic, supportive relationship those two had, even though I am the world's biggest Spike/Lynda shipper. I was so sad when Kenny left, because it really did feel like he needed to be there for a successful group dynamic, moreso than other characters (like Sarah, who suffered from really horrible writing + horrible acting).

Off-topic but god, writing about the greatness of Press Gang always makes me think about all the horribleness of the current Doctor Who, which is making everybody hate Moffat with the fire of a thousand suns. He wrote really well, back in the day, you guys! Trust me on this. And also, watch Press Gang if you haven't. It's out on DVD, it's funny, it's cute, it's everything you want from an early 90's kids' show.

This is the thing that bothers me most about people hating on Moffat, coming at him from a Doctor Who angle - I have friends who now won't touch anything with his name on or in or connected to in any way and I just want to shake them by the shoulders and convince them that he did some really great shows before Doctor Who, but the damage has been done :(

LOVED Press Gang as a kid, LOVED Doctor Who, am disappointed in Moffat!Who. I like some scripts he didn't write (7b's been good to me) but the sexism and clever-clever plotty plots, SIGH.

Yeah. I don't dislike Sarah per se, or at least the idea of Sarah - but Kenny or Sarah? Cake or death. Easy choice. I don' t think the show, or Lynda, ever really recovered from him leaving.

Yeah, that's sad. I only really ever LOVED Press Gang of all his work - even Doctor Who didn't make me hate him, I just stopped caring about the show and stopped watching. He can be such a good writer. But the terrible thing is - I'm almost glad there WON'T be a PG continuation. I love Press Gang too much to have it devolve into something bad. Or even just 'not good.'

Most definitely. The Kenny/Lynda friendship and the stablising effect he had on her was one of my favourite things about the show. There's that exchange from 'The Last Word - Part II' that sums them up quite well.

"If I die you'll feel really guilty."
"Why? You won't be there to tell me to."

(Also that episode - 'A Night In' - might be my favourite episode of the whole series. :) )
