I don't even know who Kailin Gow is. Simple truth is that people who came up in fandom are going to get more attention, and when they fuck up in fandom, it's never going to go away. Especially if that fandom is as huge as Harry Potter. Does this chick have fandom roots?

And from what I've heard, Cassie Claire's screw ups went a bit beyond plagiarism. Apparently she tracked down a fourteen year old girl and told on her to her parents (although of course there's a bajillion sides to every story).

That said, some of the Cassie Claire stuff was old in 2002, much less now. So I do agree with that.

Told on her for what? What sides of the story do you know?

New Anon:

have some old wank! I'm sure there's more you could find around about good ol' Cassie. http://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/73559683.html

Didn't she also try to have a girl kicked out of her university? (It didn't work)

That's really lulzy, ngl.

...Wow.

Okay, I just read that entire article, and I still don't get what the big deal is supposed to be. So she's a bandwagon-jumper putting out mediocre, uninspired work and she lies about the size of her readerbase. How is that even remotely on par with directly stealing other people's work and making a profit off of it?

(Anonymous) 2013-05-14 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
She's bought a bunch of imaginary awards and attention, and when someone points it out she claims she's being persecuted.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-15 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
da

????? Do you mean she's claiming that she's got a bunch of awards she doesn't have/don't exist?

That's hardly drama worthy. Dickish, but not CC levels of dickish.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-15 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
Still not plagiarism though.

Lord woman, it's like you want to send the internet hound dogs after you. Doesn't she know people take screencaps of things in this day and age?
