The two worlds theory would have done better if:

The loss of Snow/Emma had given time for Charming to see Regina becoming a better person/parent and then emotionally betrayed his wife and daughter by supporting Regina's rights (even somewhat). I really thought that the writers would explore that option when Charming's father showed up and was watching Henry.

If they'd taken a bit more time to take people into the real world and developed the characters a bit more.

Dropped the whole "Bae/Neal" idiocy.

Learned the meaning of continuity.

Yeah that plot was dropped so hard. Which is sad because I wanted to see more of Charles Widmore (hehehe) and see how his real world counterpart could actively affect their world, since he does have some power in the real world as well as in FTL.

I like the fact that they're all related in a way but I hate that they kept switching names so often. And that Henry was demoted to 'kid' a lot, even by his own birth mother, because it created a weird dissonance when they're trying to show how close they are.

I agree they should have developed the real world more, since we were stuck there for almost a whole season after their awakening. I was hoping more that they'd all go back to FTL and expound a bit on them having the knowledge of modern technology versus 1500's technology and the like.

What do you mean by they dropped the whole Neal/Bae idiocy? Like his name or the guessing game? hehe

It just annoyed me because

They should have dropped the "Bae=Neal" storyline. It's stupid and trite and adds nothing to the mix. I'm all for magic and fantasy but it's such crappy storytelling!

The most interesting character this season was Tamara's first victim. Would have loved to have had more time with that one!

The writers aren't even trying to make good story; they're just ignoring plot and running wild. There is virtually no jeopardy because it's hard to care about such uneven, cardboard characters/scenarios.

Well I think Bae's storyline is okay but could have been better. It was obvious from the first episode of season 2 that he was Rumple's son, I was just hoping it wasn't true hehe. And to tie him in to being Henry's father too. It's just...ugh. Too much.

I agree about the first victim. I wanted to know where he came from and what it meant for the rest of FTL that magic existed outside of it on Earth. What does that all mean? I guess it semi ties in with Neverland seeing as how it was on Earth in England.

I've read somewhere in this thread that the writers changed the plot halfway through and you can see it. I think they just didn't know what to do with it after it became popular. I agree about the characters too. I really loved their season 1 incarnates but their characterization has changed episode to episode so much that I don't care if they're not good or went back to evil.

Also it's annoyed me that Dreamy's plot was dropped, I was wanting him to meet up with his girl, and that the faeries didn't have any power anymore. I liked that in the last episode it was explained away why they weren't around so often. Same with Red and August and Hopper.

I like Dreamy/Leroy/Grumpy. His episode was a really sweet take, with lovely work by Amy Acker. It's always nice to see her. I don't particularly care for the Blue Fairy's character and Astrid was a nice contrast to her.

The writers need to get back on track. I keep hoping the show will get better but... there is always fanfic to ease one's pain. I rather suspect a mid-season cancellation if things continue as they are. The networks don't have a lot of patience anymore.
