(Anonymous) 2013-05-16 07:51 am (UTC)(link)But seriously I die inside when people tell me they haven't seenthese movies -- they're just so darn cute and gorey! The sound tracks were neat, the spider and the fly vibe in the first one was darling, Arkin's conflicted heroism and the Collector's vaguely intimate torture prowess: it made up for the slight lack in plot with all the inferences you could make!. Jesus you'd at least expect some dark bdsm/noncon fic floating around!
Same with other horror movie! Their plots (gappy as they were)were extended throw sequels with fairly interesting characters and wmgs, enough to inspire actual fandoms for them. Not to mention crossovers.
I have no idea why there isn't a bigger fan base for it, I mean you can't even blame the fact their serial killers or that some of them have disfigurements. Everyone has some sort of fetish that can apply to that in some way nowadays.
