Oh, wait, there's a secret! Uhhh...I don't know. I think if you know someone doesn't know anything and/or isn't interested, I totally understand feeling self-conscious about flat-out mentioning it. But you might want to drop some in-jokes and references to see if anyone you know picks up on them -- stuff that would go unnoticed by people who know nothing about your interests, but which people who do would immediately realize what you're referencing. You never know, you might have a case of twice-shy, and one of your friends might be another secret nerd!
