Are there any current story arcs/unanswered questions/recent canon events in the shows/comics/whatever that you read/watch that is pissing you off at the moment? Why is it pissing you off? Can it get better or did something get ruined? Are you crossing your fingers and hoping that some particular development does/doesn't happen?

Two things about One Piece: I detest Caribou and he's been on the cover pages for over a year, non-stop. The other is that there's a bunch of mostly unimportant guys fighting in a Colliseum and I couldn't care less. I literally couldn't.

At least it seems like next chapter the actual plot will pick up again.

Are you seriously telling me Caribou isn't dead yet? For fuck's sake.

I still don't get what's been stopping the Doctor from telling Clara about her death problem and trying to solve it together with her. Didn't he already learn way, way back with Ace that keeping the companion in the dark while you analyze her and secretly pull strings is a boneheaded move? If Clara ends up getting psychologically wounded or accidentally giving some villain the key to the destruction of the world because of her ignorance, I'm gonna have a lot less patience with the Doctor now than I did when he was Seven.

Fucking arrrggghhh.

And that's another thing -- it's not mysterious or clever. It's incredibly transparent that he's up to some kind of shenanigans and I honestly do not understand how Clara is not going "WTF IS GOING ON????" especially after seeing the picture of herself in Victorian London at the end of The Crimson Horror.

And what was with her weird laid-back reaction to her multi-deaths and the news that both she and the Doctor were going to forget everything at the end of Journey? She was more interested in remembering the Doctor's name than the fact that there's something crazy-wrong with her? It makes her not even seem like a real person.

Sadly, I think that your last line there hit the nail on the head.

Clara's main job on this show is to be pretty, sass the Doctor, and stare wide eyed into the camera for a reaction shot every now and again. She doesn't react realistically because she's not realistic. She's a plot device in the form of sex appeal.

She doesn't drive the plot as a character, she's just along for the ride. Her having independent thought about the situation would mean developing her, which means less time for her to sass the Doctor and look pretty!

Yeah. :( And it's actually a real shame, because I like the little we have seen of her personality. But her personality only seems to have any actual presence/acknowledgment in the two Neil Cross episodes, so it seems like more a Neil Cross-specific thing than a character arc that Moffat actually planned out and told the writing team to develop.

It really is! In the end though, Moffat is much more interested in ~mystery~ rather than world and character building, and that as a whole is why Doctor Who has suffered imo. You can't hold a story together with nothing but a mystery.

How they've been treating Annie on Community lately.

Ugh, Irisa and Deputy Tommy hooking up. I had literally finished saying "I hope they don't hook up," and then they did.

I really hate the Victorian London arc going on the Doctor Who, and I hate Madame Vastra and Sally and Commander Strax... I mean WHY are they even there? Why don't people even notice them?

Couldn't they spend more time in space than time for once? All of time and space to choose from they they go back to earth in the 1800s, or the 1970s. And don't give me that crap about the viewers relating more to the earth stories. Classic Who managed amazing stories set on different planets with different aliens - and on a much smaller budget! People relate to the characters, and the plot; not the place.

Argh... I really love DW, but it's getting to me like the whole Rose arc did. -_-

I like Vastra, Jenny, and Strax, but... Victorian London? Really? Cuz, yeah, all of time and space, and the Doctor keeps going, not only to Earth, but the same damn time and place on Earth.

I probably wouldn't hate them as much if they weren't in Victorian London in this current story arc.

The whole time not space thing has been a problem throughout NuWho. Even in Classic Who, the third Doctor, who was stranded on Earth for one series, spent his time trying to get off it. And I'm not against episodes set on Earth, but just not so many. The fourth Doctor spent most of his time on other planets.

I think that Moffat needs to be replaced, he's outstayed his welcome. A new Doctor and a new writer will hopefully make a big difference.

Plus once Sarah Jane left, he didn't have a companion from Earth* until Tegan in his last episode. The show was often TRULY alien.
*Leela's ancestors were Human, but she was born on another planet, and from a different culture.

Exactly. I think that's why I love Tom Baker's stories so much.

What I think would be awesome is if Romana turned up again. Either she found a way out of e-space, or The Doctor ends up there again. Then maybe there won't be as much 'woe is me, I'm the last Tome Lord' stuff.

From what I've heard, she was Time Lord President at one point, so I guess she did get back to our universe. Whether that's canon, though, I don't know.

the walking dead. i wish they would actually go more into the zombification process. i have no idea if they have gone into it in the comics that much because i haven't read them but it seemed like they were building up to do so in the TV show and then just kind of.. stopped building up to it.

also what the hell was up with shane's whole RRAAAH I'M A ZOMBIE BUT IM ALIVE thing, they never bothered trying to explain that shit
