Speaking as someone who has been where you are, please don't get involved. Whatever has happened between them is THEIR business, and if it blows up in their faces, that's also their business.

It's human nature to be curious or upset if you were part of it last time, but think about it - what do you gain from asking/meddling? When you immerse yourself in other people's drama, you're only creating unnecessary stress for yourself.
