I'm having a hard time thinking of romances that tried the "I don't like you, no wait I do" setup and didn't have me wanting to shout "Run!" Authors tend to go way farther with the male lead's persistence than I view as healthy.

Alright, let's see...

First encounter- Outside church where Alex works. Her dog runs to him and he gives him a treat. Alex introduces herself and Yun Hee is unimpressed. She tells him, "Stay away from my dog. Please." as she walks away.

Second encounter- She runs into him by accident by the church (again) when her dog runs to him (AGAIN) later that same day. He asks her if she's looking for someone and asks if she wants coffee maybe? He offers to show her around the church. She accepts. She later gets uncomfortable and leaves without saying why.

Third encounter- He sends a note home with her dog who comes to him while he's at THE CHURCH. AGAIN. The note apologizes for offending her before and offers to make it up to her with coffee or something. She thinks his note is pushy Americaness and goes TO THE CHURCH and tells him to leave her alone.

Fourth encounter- She goes to him so he can take her to her injured dog because only he can get her to the vet on base.

...

For real, OP? Maybe Yun Hee should leave Alex alone. She's the one burning all the calories.

Pretty much. He doesn't chase her at all. It's more like "Oh hey, owner of that cute dog that keeps following me. How've you been?"

Yeah, it always seemed less like Alex was following her like OP is saying but it was just they kept meeting each other accidentally. Alex seems to be the type to pleasant to everyone and, hey, he thinks Yun Hee's cute, so he attempted to get closer. I always figured that, if Yun Hee refused the coffee invite, Alex probably would've stop pursuing her.

Uh, yeah it's going with the sort of "i hate you wait maybe not" trope, but you're kind of misrepresenting things. He doesn't seek her out intentionally, and she's hardly just an "orphaned girl." You make it sound like she's younger and less capable than she is.
