No, I admit I phrased that last line poorly. I just mean it's not really as big of an issue. It's a problem with men for men, not for feminists.

Well thanks for admitting that feminists don't give a shit about rape unless it impacts them.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-18 10:25 am (UTC)(link)
yes that person is every feminist ever

(Anonymous) 2013-05-17 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, NO. I'm a feminist and I would never, ever say anything close to what you're saying. Rape is a problem for EVERYONE, not just women. Being a feminist doesn't mean that you should trivialize or demean the opposite sex. It certainly doesn't mean that you have a right to say that a man being rapes is less traumatic or important than a woman being raped.

You really need to shut up, sit in a fucking corner, and think about how much of a shitting PERSON you are. You need to learn to be a fucking human being before you start calling yourself a feminist.

And you know what? As a fucking rape survivor I seriously resent everything you've said and implied.

Go fuck yourself.

What feminisim SHOULD be is about gender equality, and eliminating a culture that promotes people to be hurt sexually. Feminism should never be about "only women", it should be about fighting gender injustice that usually women face the brunt of (but not all of).

no, all rape is a problem for feminists

you're ignoring intersectionality and the circular nature of rape culture

the reason people believe 'men can't be raped' and the reasons majority of male rape goes unreported tie DIRECTLY into rape culture, patriarchy, and the cycle of abuse. (i.e. rape is a 'weakness' therefore 'for women,' women can't be rapists because rape is power and women aren't capable of having it, etc.)

it's like how there are all manner of gendered insults for women, but genedered insults for men all hinge specifically on comparing and equating them with women, but on a much more horrific scale because IT'S RAPE
