honestly, tyrion isn't a "great" guy but he's better than goddamn littlefinger and the hound. one creeps on sansa relentlessly because she looks like her mom. the other tried to rape her. tyrion doesn't force consummation of their marriage and even when faced with his own execution refuses to say one word against her. he also publicly spoke out against and insulted joffrey - even threatened to cut his dick off - in her defense.

AND YET he is somehow a horrible person? nu uh. i'm sick of that attitude. fuck internet feminists and the horse they rode in on.

Sandor doesn't have a habit of strangling the woman he sleeps with, so that alone makes him a better pick for her.

Plus there's also the bit that Sansa wanted nothing to do with Tyrion whereas she was drawn to Sandor on some level and often would wish he was there when he wasn't.

And if Sandor wanted to rape Sansa, he would have. Nothing was stopping him. But he didn't.

Sansa's focus on the Hound can be viewed as idealized on the idea of 'escaping that hell known as King's Landing,' it could have been anyone that offered her a way out and wasn't actively trying to kill her. I was always under the impression people hated Tyrion more for his actions in the more recent books than what happened with Sansa, and that was why he's now considered a horrible person. Granted I've seen some people complain about his whole stint with Sansa too.
