Re: Was Your High School Like the Typical Media Experience?

Nope. I went to one of the last agricultural high schools in the country (it used to be a residential high school in the first half of the 20th century and still had dorms on premises that were used for other purposes by the time I got there). The school was on tons of acres of lands, and there was livestock and barns and the suchlike. You could either take a college prep track or an ag track that prepped you to go into the family farming business. The cows lowed in the pasture behind the footfall field during the games.

There was very little violence at my school, and I was never afraid of it happening at all (but then again, I pretty much finished high school right as the very first high profile school shooting in the nineties happened). There were popular people and nerdy people and jocks and alternative people, but I don't think there was a huge culture of bullying at my high school. Mostly people got along alright or ignored each other.
