People are entitled to like what they like, of course, but for me, a lot of their interaction is sweet and wonderful when they're platonic family, but sort of unsettling if you look at it through the lens of romance. Additionally, I don't think the third game could have been more explicit that they're precious to each other as family rather than as potential lovers. And that kind of hero/heroine dynamic is so rare and unique in almost the entire scope of entertainment media that I can't help but be a little put out when fans try and squeeze it into that mold regardless.

Just my take, though. They certainly do love each other to death either way.
