The age difference doesn't instrinsically bother me--I don't have the same averse reaction to Phoenix/Franziska as I do to Phoenix/Maya, which is the same gap--but their relationship and interactions really do highlight that he sees her as a kid (a kid he adores and loves with all his heart, but all the same), and as someone he has to look out for and be responsible for besides. That's what sort of gets to me.

Yeah, true, true. Age difference aside, their dynamic is far too brother-sister for me to even want to see it as anything else. Not because it be weird or anything, just because they work so well on a sibling level already.
