Okay. So Dwayne Johnson wants to be Power Man. I'm not thrilled, cause Marvel's president just said they'd love to have him which means if the MCU gets to stage 4 he's probably got the job.

I'm mixed here. On the one hand, this drastically increases the chances of a Hereos for Hire movie. Which drastically increases the chances of an Iron Man movie.

And if they take the Immortal Weapons/Seven Cities story arc, we will have the best Kung Fu movie ever made in the west.

All this speculation aside though... and I know you don't expect this kinda talk from me... Luke Cage should be played by an African American. The man's a sendup to Blaxploitation done right. It is part of his backstory that while not entirely unworkable does

Personally, Terry Crews or Isaiah Mustafa would be much better choices. I'd rather have a Power Man movie exist with The Rock then nothing at all, but I fear that might be signaling the end of the golden age of MCU.

Ew. I would not want the Rock to play anyone. They should pick a less known actor. Also, I cannot take the Rock seriously. He tries to act all tough, and I am just like, "Hah. Okay buddy."

And didn't RDJ say he was done with the Iron Man series (he didn't sign on for more)?

Contract negotiations are underway though. That could change. You know they want him back for Avengers 2 either way.

Yeah Avengers 2 (maybe 3). I am assuming if he holds out on not wanting anymore Iron Man movies, we know who will be making a heroic sacrifice in the Avengers.

no way. Iron Man is too integral to the team (and on the Meta Level, so is RDJ as a draw) . He'd have to do a lot before they didn't bend over backwards to figure out how to accommodate him.

RDJ just doesn't want to do them. I think he said somewhere he wanted to make sure he ended on a high note with them.

They come up with a good enough story that won't be a problem. Either way, I think they'll get him to come back for more Avengers.

Yes, I heard that as well. He didn't sign for Iron Man 4 and apparently negotiated hard for his co-stars to be treated well in the Avengers and their own films, since they earn considerably less than what they bring back to the studio. (RDJ, the more I know you, the more I love you)

There are also rumours about Jeremy Renner leaving or Hawkeye being recast??!

Meh. Jeremy Renner was a weak link and Hawkeye was a weak character. Plus Renner didn't like his storyline in the Avengers. I think he should be recast and moved to the SHIELD TV show.

I say 90% it is probably more like 70% but my longest discussions are generally when I am trolling. I like to play Devil's Advocate a lot.

I really like Hawkeye, but I really like Hawkeye from the current comics run. Who would be really fantastic on the SHIELD TV show, especially if they use a different actor.

I don't like any of those choices for Power Man, really. I mean, the Rock is definitely the worst of the bunch, because as you point out, he's not black. but Terry Crews and Isaiah Mustafa don't really fit my view of the character either (Terry Crews also has the problem of not being able to act; Isaiah Mustafa wouldn't be so bad either).

But yeah. Find a good black actor, not a superathlete or a fucking Samoan pro wrestler.

Also, if we have a Heroes for Hire movie, we better have a appropriately cast Misty Knight in full fro glory

Sadly, Pam Grier is too old to take the roll made for her. Oh for a time machine...

I'd like Tracie Thoms for the role! She has expressed interest in it already...

I don't really like Dwayne Johnson as an actor, but that's mostly because I don't know if he's done any movies I've really liked. So I don't know how much I can judge him. But yeah, I don't want to see him as Luke Cage :(

Honestly his acting talent is irrelevant. It's a character who's race is enough of a part of his story that it shouldn't be fucked with.

Now if he wanted to play Namor, on the other hand...

Dwayne Johnson would make a dope Namor.
