(Anonymous) 2013-05-18 03:03 am (UTC)(link)Because, hell, there was someone on Tumblr talking about how making the Mandarin a puppet in a (seemingly) deliberate tongue-in-cheek move was offensive because it was BURYING THE RACIAL STEREOTYPE OF THE ORIGINAL CANON.
Fandom is fucked up, man. People will complain no matter what. We could have a brilliant movie about independent, strong, POC women whose lives don't revolve around men and who single-handedly save the entire universe and people will be complaining because, halfway through, one of them screamed when she broke her leg.
