Ahaha, near unavoidable, especially if your fandom is small/uncommon enough to make you immediately recognizable. You would probably have to be super vague and "character A from fandom X" about it.

Sorry, secret-maker. ^^;

+_+ Yeah. I even had random total strangers recognise my secret once, and I definitely saw it happening to other people here. May prove to be a problem.

Eh, IDK what to advise. Looks like a deadlock.

yeah, there are a few secrets in certain fandoms I don't bother to post for the same reason ... because they're not actually secret to the few people in the fandom.

(And to be honest they're not actually proper F!S secret material anyhow: they're all more like "95% of the fandom ships so-and-so but although I most emphatically do not I don't say anything.")

If you're really worried people will guess you're the secret maker, maybe try to be really vague? Give us enough info without making a novel about it. Try not to say show and character names?

If you're a part of a small fandom and you're known for loving it tho... well then you're kinda screwed. But I mean, I am sure their are people who like your small fandom, but they're just in hiding.

You can always just give it a shot and then deny everything, haha.

I've had people recognize me by my secrets before. Mostly because I'm in some relatively small fandoms. Also once I posted a secret with two of said small fandoms in it and that was like well duh, it could only be me.

Either use a picture from a completely different fandom or one that's not fandom-related, and be as vague as possible. Or don't be vague and make a game of how many people will recognize you. :p
