idk he plays up the tony stark card when he is promoting the movie but otherwise I hardly see any douche moments of him. also this just came up to my dash and apparently people who work with him loves him too

You work with people who try to take care of themselves, and then there’s people who take care of everybody else, and Downey’s one of those guys who literally comes around and he’s taking care of everybody else, cast, crew—’How you doing?’ ‘What do you need?’
[Robert]’s selfless and he’s just a pleasure to be around and it’s fascinating to watch him work. Because through his selflessness, he also finds all these great nuggets. He’s a team player and you rise and sink by the people you surround yourself with.

An interview I heard with his wife Susan (who produces movies, and idk I really like her) said that when RDJ does a movie he really thinks of himself as the head of the acting department (when he's the first billed in something) so he tries to act like a department head and look out for everybody.
