You realize the reason he's threatening not to sign is because he thinks his coworkers deserve better compensation, right?

Yeah, this. I couldn't care less if Avengers 2 came to fruition, but this was admirable.

Maybe if he didn't himself demand so much money, they could give more to the others? (It may an asinine comment, but I'm honestly asking. Doesn't he want like 50 million or something insane like that?)

but he didn't ask 50 million that's the common mistake people assume.

he made a deal with disney after iron man 2 that he was going to get %6-%7 from avengers box office. no one saw that avengers was going to be that big. so he got that much money because avengers made that much money. it was a business deal not a fix money he demanded

He got a percentage of the gross box office, in exchange for less up front. I think in part it's because he didn't get much for the first Iron Man, since he was such a risk (Terrence Howard made WAY more than he did).
