Or is she 'calling you out' for liking female characters that are designed to appeal to males? That...I don't think that's something women should be 'called out' for either. It's entirely possible to like a female character who's been sexualized for a male audience without supporting objectification of women in real life. :/

Seriously, how does one make the jump from "you should feel bad for liking these characters for [reasons]" to thinking that would mean you can't possibly support women in real life in a way that has absolutely nothing to do with your video games.

I think I might actually prefer the other variety of dumb that thinks you can't possibly care about things in real life when you have a beef with things in video games.

Everyone replying is right. Your friend is stupid but she's young and she'll learn. There is nothing wrong with liking sexy video game heroines. Play the games, read the fan fics, write the fan fics, do the cosplay. Make your own female heroes in stories and games and let them do what you want, whether it's sexy or not. And keep supporting the causes you believe in. Anyone who has a problem with that can GTFO.
