Do you really want to live in a universe that has the Borg running around? The idea of what basically is cyborg zombies just creeps me out too much. Yes, it would be interesting to have Vulcans and Ferangi around but...yeah, cyborg zombies.

AYRT

I am entirely willing to risk becoming a cyborg zombie if it means getting to travel through space and encounter aliens and other weird space shit.

But you are in constant war with some planet or another.

Plus, these things will exist to-

OK, I'll admit those things are pretty fucking terrifying.

But so are a lot of animals in real life (hornets, jellyfish, everything in Australia), and that's never stopped anyone from working in environments where they might potentially encounter those animals.

In this case I think the pros outweigh the cons.

Okay, you've got me there.

I'm not sure what would be worse that Ceti Eel there or a real world bot fly. Yeah, I think I am giving myself a whole tankful of nightmare fuel.

If you don't join Starfleet you probably won't have to deal with cyborg zombies. But you still get replicators and holodecks and you get to go into space.

The big downside is Betazoids. They can tell what you're thinking, and they look just like humans. I'd be paranoid as fuck.

The Borg went to all planets, Federation aligned or not. If the Borg are coming to your planet and no one is around to defend it and you can't defend yourself, your hide zombie cyborg toast.

Personally, I think having the Q around would be worse. A whole species of aliens that are just basically gods. Bored gods. And sometimes they like to mess with the lesser beings. And you might be one of those less beings. And there is no way to defend yourself against them.

I'd be okay with the constant Borg threat if it meant that Seven of Nine was around, too. And if there was a chance that I could wind up on Voyager and kill Neelix. Or, if that was out of the question, if I could kill Wesley, Riker, Barclay and/or Pulaski.

I like the way you think.
