I bitched and whined and complained about tumblr for ages before I gave in and made an account. Now I'm fucking obsessed with it. Tumblr is AWESOME (for the most part, anyway. The SJWs suck a lot of the fun out of it), and the shit on there is fucking incredible.

I still don't think it's a good substitute for LJ (fandom-wise) as you can hardly communicate with the people over there (and what's the point of fandom if you can't even hold proper discussions), but it's still pretty damn cool.

Just sayin'.

TUMBLR.

I do agree, to an extent? I feel like LJ/DW and Tumblr fufill two very different needs in fandom. Furthermore, I think that tumblr is geared more to the experience of the individual, while LJ/DW is better for social interaction and actually getting to know the people you're following.
manifold: This is totally going in my blog! (going in my blog)

Tumblr is pretty great for sharing and finding fanart. If nothing else, I don't feel like it's just going into the aether, never to be heard from again.

Terrible for any kind of conversation, though. And the people that actually blog about themselves there, WHAT, DO YOU HAVE BALLS OF STEEL

Yeah, tumblr is great at what it does, but anything other than that it really, really sucks at.
