(Anonymous) 2013-05-24 06:00 am (UTC)(link)How is that NOT fetishizing something problematic?
None of this secret is about shipping the dynamic or pairing as a really interesting psychological study. This isn't about the level-headed fans of Theon/Ramsay that don't fetishize it. This isn't even about Theon/Ramsay shippers as a whole. I personally don't understand it but if people are aware of the problems and are just fascinated by the pairing/characters/dynamic, that's fine. There is nothing inherently wrong with exploring such dark themes.
However this secret is explicitly about being aroused by/masturbating to the onscreen portrayal torture, rape, and genital mutilation.
And that is not cool in my humble opinion.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-24 06:12 am (UTC)(link)So what if they are? They are literally hurting nobody by getting off to stuff like this. OP sounds like they're aware that it's wrong and that they wouldn't condone this kind of thing IRL, it just hits a lot of their kinks (rape and violence is not exactly an uncommon fetish anyway). That is how kinks work and there is nothing wrong with that if it pertains to fiction
and doesn't involve pedophillia. You are totally kink shaming and THAT, imo, is not cool.
