...because about two years or so ago, when I'd JUST learned that transgenderism was a thing that existed and was very confused, I asked F!S a question about it with much milder phrasing than you did and got screamed out of the comm for being "phobic" and "IT IS NOT OUR JOB TO EDUCATE YOU" and "HDU not already know this!!!!1" Gotta say the change is for the better.

Yup, I agree. F!S is a much nicer place to hangout these days. I don't miss the old days at all. I love the move to dreamwidth for this reason.

Haha, it's funny you say this because I have a RL/fandom friend who's gone the opposite way. She used to read f!s (and was actually the one who introduced me to it) but doesn't anymore because apparently we're all too ~problematic~.

I miss when it was pathetically easy to troll, but when I just want to casually browse it's a lot nicer without walls of text consisting of stupid debates.
