Writing style, background, the discussion around it and their responses, the attention they seemed to be going for.

Nothing I could straight put my finger on in the first instance, just a million small factors that add up and either make you think 'yeah they're clearly making up a story' or 'damn I really believe this and hope they sort out this situation'.

And then brotherfucking anon made like sisx follow up stories related to it each more outrageous than the last, and after everyone had stopped believing them another anon with an incest story came along with exactly the same writing style.
