(Anonymous) 2013-05-29 02:15 am (UTC)(link)But it's been...different lately. I realized over time, that when I accepted my feelings about sex and love and pairings, that...it was more okay to write and read and fantasize about love. And...it's become way hotter for me.
For me, maybe not for everybody, the dubious consent and rough, etc., aspects had a lot to do with not accepting how I really felt about sexuality and desire. Like, I wasn't really "allowed" to feel how I felt or like what I liked, so this was a safe way to experience it emotionally (because it wasn't my choice or even the characters' choice, not quite). Like that made it safer, somehow.
I'm really glad to be past that. Now that I'm more okay with my attractions, I can really get into loving stories and I write and love it without any weird feelings about "Why do I like this?" It's not such a big deal anymore now that I have greater self acceptance.
Probably someone will mock this, but I'm writing to the OP, not to the mockers. I hope it means something to you, OP, but if not, that you find your own answers and what helps you. :)
