Re: What You Know About Shows Through Fandom Osmosis
NCIS is yet another procedural, except it involves a goth girl with annoying hair, an old geezer who is hot for her, and a technobabble guy. Together they solve crime while snarking all the time with cleverly written dialogue.
Hawaii 5-0 is exactly the same as NCIS, only it's a remake of a procedural from the good old days. Someone jumps out of a helicopter at the end of an episode, and John Locke says hi sometimes.
Mad Men takes place in the 50's. A well-dressed asshole fucks every woman because they are in love with his sexism, but he's really a tragic character because of his trying to make his company awesome. There's a gay guy hanging out in the corner somewhere. All the women are redheads, and Fandom March Madness probably has stanning comments about them. Everyone smokes.
Arrow is just like Smallville, only with Green Arrow in it. But it's also better because tons of DC heroes make better cameos in this show. It also doesn't follow any of the storylines in the comics? And Speedy isn't addicted to drugs or the alcohols because he's a handsome ex-werewolf.
Hannibal. I have the episode ready to play in just a moment, so what I understand I'm getting into is it's Hannibal Lecter, only I can pretend everything after Silence of the Lamb or it's film sequel, never actually happened since this all takes place in his younger still-a-licensed-doctor days. He recruits fellow serial killers and teach them how tasty people are. It's like instagram and a cooking show had a baby, because the food really does look good and preparable at home. They eat a person or group of persons per episode. Like a procedural from the side of the guys they're trying to catch.
Code Geass is about noodle-limbed people who are flat as pancakes unless they are chicks in which case they have huge boobs. There's this guy called LeDouche, and he's the secret king of the world that happens to be imploding with war. He becomes a secret assassin, because he wants to fight for all the sides. A green-haired chick is his secret sister, and she has the superpower to force people to do as she commands. So she makes out with her brother, the king, and passes the superpowers on to him, therefore making him an asshole.
A lot of people also have this superpower.
Sometimes they fight in giant robots because it's an anime.
And the king's best dude friend kills him while dressed as him because it is the only way to end all war.
