Re: Arrested Development

I'm a little more than halfway through and am greatly disappointed. This is a GREAT ensemble cast, but they all make terrible leads. The non-linear timeline only makes it more obvious that the cast wasn't able to film all together -- it adds nothing to the overall story or tone and ultimately detracts from my enjoyment. Everything is over the top, embarrassing, and I've laughed like twice in eight episodes.

The fourth season is like the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 of Arrested Development. Tired and leaning too heavily on jokes that were only funny years ago.

I think the non-linear timeline would have worked well as a way for each of to catch up with the characters if they had spent one episode only on each of the characters and then followed linearly from there.

I laughed a lot more during the second half of the show than the first half.
