I don't know if this helps, but when I went to a taping of TDS a couple of months ago, someone in the audience asked Jon who had more viewers, him or Stephen. And Jon said that it was probably him, but he didn't get why everyone made it a competition, because they were like family, and that their kids played together.

So. I enjoyed hearing that, anyway.

I miss the tosses too :( I love these two to death all on their own, but I especially love them when they're together.

I remember when they played up the rivalry (also with Conan O'Brien) until a mock-brawl during the writers' strike. Good times.

I miss how they'd crack each other up in the toss. Especially when one (or both) did that collapse-on-the-desk-from-laughter thing. Totally adorable!

Much as it sucks that they don't do tosses any more, they did spend much of last year appearing on each other's shows for bits related to Colbert SuperPAC. And then there was Stephen giving Jon chicken-based debate training...and there will always be more awards shows, more joint fundraising appearances, more interviews (together, referring to each other, of each other...)

So they will have more good times in the future! Don't lose hope.
