today, the last day, was great. it feels so weird knowing I'll never have homework for these classes again. I still have to go in to school like every other day for graduation rehearsal, but I'm still totally pumped.

in other news, I accepted the invitations to 3-4 grad parties without realizing that you're supposed to bring gifts. does anyone have suggestions for something cheap I could buy? all of the hosts are girls, if it helps.

I still remember the end of high school. I just felt so tired, and glad it was done.

thanks! that's exactly how I feel. my senior year was actually pretty dreadful. I used to be the type of person who saw the bright side and kept happy, but high school sucked that right out of me.

Gift cards to Wal-Mart or Target or a dept. store. Just for like $10. They can use it for college stuff or clothes.

I considered gift cards, but I don't know if I'll have the money to get as many as I need. thanks for the suggestion! target would actually be a great place to look for gifts, come to think of it.

Echoing gift cards as gifts, but ask around to make sure you really need to bring anything. When I graduated, most people had two parties, one for family and one with friends, where other graduates were not expected to bring gifts.

thank you! and yeah, I'm kind of just assuming thus far that I need to bring something since my mom suddenly brought that up. it didn't occur to me yet that I might not have to bring a present.

Yeah, in my experience parents tend to assume things like that, but if the party is almost entirely friends/classmates, 99% sure you don't need to bring a gift.

If you want to bring a host-thing, you could just get flowers? Though, i guess if you're doing three or four bouquets, that could get a little pricy....

But yeah, probably a gift is not expected.

Books from a second-hand bookstore. You can get something that's old and out of print, and thus hard to find, as well as making the gift something personal that suits the receiver.

Or really good chocolate.

Do you have to bring things? I know when I went to friends grad parties, I'd bring cards, and adults brought money (because seriously idk where you are, but at my school I just got cash), but graduates didn't bring each other stuff.
