Just saw Star Trek:Into darkness

Re: Just saw Star Trek:Into darkness
(Anonymous) 2013-05-29 12:47 am (UTC)(link)Because STID was a good space action movie, IMO, but it was not Star Trek.
Re: Just saw Star Trek:Into darkness
(Anonymous) 2013-05-29 01:24 am (UTC)(link)Agreed. JJ will probably do great with Star Wars, but they are entirely different types of sci-fi. STID was such a disappointment even without the Khan fail.
(Also, can I just say 'awkward scream'?)
Re: Just saw Star Trek:Into darkness
(Anonymous) 2013-05-29 02:07 am (UTC)(link)I totally agree. As one of my friends said... "Star Wars can have him." (And this is with both of us being Lost and Alias fans.)

How did they turn "Moby Dick" into "Raiders of the Lost Ark"? That's what i want to know. Very very different things.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-29 01:49 am (UTC)(link)I guess I was thinking too much of Buck Rogers and the inclusion of Hawk to the posse in Season 3. I wanted bromance and epic friendships, I suppose. I need to stop being nostalgic for things that just aren't going to happen.
Or perhaps fanfic. I'll just go look for some AU fanfic instead.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-29 02:08 am (UTC)(link)LOLOL. I like that.
I was (foolishly) hoping that they would actually do a new story, rather than rehashing previous ones with more gunfire and explosions and stuff.
Re: Just saw Star Trek:Into darkness
(Anonymous) 2013-05-29 01:48 am (UTC)(link)I don't even think it was a good space movie. It's definitely not really Star Trek but that wouldn't bother me if I thought it was a good movie. But I don't think it was - the plot never really seemed to come together, it was just one ridiculous thing after another.
Re: Just saw Star Trek:Into darkness
(Anonymous) 2013-05-29 02:11 am (UTC)(link)I said "good", not great, but I suppose I cannot entirely disagree. There were definitely a lot of issues with things. Starting from the opening sequence. And I agree that the plot just kept jumping from one thing to another. But it mostly had me kept up in it, which is what I consider to be decent enough.
However, with that being said, I don't think I'll ever rewatch the movie. As I just... meh.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-29 04:26 am (UTC)(link)FUCK YEAH. It was just a really fun, enjoyable movie C:
