Re: Actually FOREVER ALONE?
(Anonymous) 2013-05-29 12:08 am (UTC)(link)IMO, the only good reason to get into a relationship is if you actually like it better than being single. You trade a lot of things in order to be intimate with somebody, and sometimes it's worth it, and sometimes it isn't. If you like being single, then rock on with it! Screw the haters. If you want a relationship, then seek one out, but don't define your sense of self-worth around it.
And if you're worried about being unloved: adopt a pet (if that's feasible for you). Dog, cat, rat, ferret, bird - whatever. They can't replace an actual intimate relationship, but they can definitely make a house feel less empty.
Re: Actually FOREVER ALONE?
(Anonymous) 2013-05-29 12:34 am (UTC)(link)I'm pretty sure this is it, yeah. And it will get worse as acquaintances start getting married etc. But as it is, I can genuinely say I'm happy on a day to day basis.
Getting a pet is a part of my future plans :'D I definitely crave companionship and caring about another living being, but I dunno, romance just isn't the kind I need even if it feels like I should.
