Me too, OP, me too. I don't want to just "vacation." I want to explore.

Why do you need someone to whisk you away on an adventure? Make your own adventure and whisk your boyfriend away with you.

I've made my own adventures. They were pretty awesome. But the bf is less adventurous than I, and sometimes it's just really nice to share these things, or to tag along with someone who knows what they're doing.

DA Gotta agree. I make my own adventures and have a fine fun time but every now and then it'd be nice to just follow someone's lead and join their adventure. Leading vs joining is a different kind of adventure.

"I feel most alive when on the road."

So so so very true. I miss it so much right now. Every time I get back out there I'm amazed and invigorated and alive. It's not just traveling, it's exploring and adventure.

I also long for an adventure companion. So far I've done it all solo, but I do have hopes of someone joining me someday. Keep an eye out, I'm sure you can meet someone - or several people along the way - that can show you wonders through their eyes. Maybe not a space traveling alien, but still.

I agree, the companion you travel with can make or break an adventure. I have some friends that I will never travel with again and I have another friend who I can't wait to drag away because he's just such a joy to be with exploring.

I'm with you on that so much, OP. So very much :'C And I don't even watch DW, but your experience does seem familiar to mine.

I miss being on the road so much. The last years have been pure stagnation.

I've done a lot of solo travel, but exploring with an enthusiastic person who knows what they're doing can be amazing. Also, it's good to have someone to watch your luggage when you're in the bathroom.

I hear you OP. My favorite compliment I've ever gotten was someone telling me I'd be a good companion (when I posted pics of myself at the Doctor Who Experience with David Tennant's costume, so it wasn't like it was just me.

I love my family, but I'm definitely the adventurous one, and studying abroad and traveling on my own was definitely the my favorite experience so far.

Stop waiting for life to whisk you away. That's passive. Be a real adventurer and do it yourself! You might meet awesome people on the road to share it with! Don't let having a partner at home stop you - I didn't. They'll be there when you get back if they're important enough.

I feel you so very, very hard, OP. Mostly I like traveling on my own, but sometimes I wish I had someone with me, so I could show them the places I've been and the cool things I've seen and just do adventures with them. ...we should get together. XD
