"Sponsored posts" on Tumblr
(Anonymous) 2013-05-31 01:04 am (UTC)(link)If you haven't - they sometimes stick in a sponsored post on your dashboard in between posts from people you follow. Like, earlier today I was just reading my dash, and saw a post about a show I've never seen anyone I follow post about. I looked back to see who posted it - and it was someone I don't follow. And then I saw the little dollar sign, and I was all, oh HELL no. Ugh ugh ugh, do not want ads being slipped in among the normal posts on my dashboard, all stealthy-like.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-31 01:13 am (UTC)(link)I did enjoy watching people flip their shit over that and the movement of the buttons, though.
Re: "Sponsored posts" on Tumblr
(Anonymous) 2013-05-31 01:20 am (UTC)(link)I don't mind when people I follow post about and recommend awesome things they've watched - because they are people who I have chosen to follow because their tastes are similar to mine and so there's actually reason for me to believe I might be interested!

Hopefully they won't increase in number though, and I understand why you don't want them there. (It would be neat if there was an option to turn them off, but that probably won't happen.)

(Anonymous) 2013-05-31 02:20 am (UTC)(link)Hopefully I can just savior "sponsored" and never see them again.

(Anonymous) 2013-05-31 02:52 am (UTC)(link)So, you've got at least one person here who understands being annoyed at that shit :/

(Anonymous) 2013-05-31 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)Re: "Sponsored posts" on Tumblr
The only things I was annoyed about was the update killing Savior and screwing up tags, but Savior has been updated and I got a new extension that fixes the tags, so.
Re: "Sponsored posts" on Tumblr
I find them really jarring. But in a way that's culturally interesting? I hadn't realised how rebellious, feministy, woman-centric, and enjoyably alternative a space my feed had become until there were suddenly these random obnoxious ads popping up. All by just reblogging shit I find cool instead of looking at things being pedalled at me.
Go away, ads. You are not my values!
