I played TS2 extensively (owned nearly all the expansion packs and gigs of custom content and all that jazz) and I play TS3 several times a week. Basically 3 is better if you liked the building aspects - constructing and decorating houses. If you liked playing legacies or multiple families or whole towns, it's virtually impossible. Changing households removes all the ambitions of the one you're leaving, meaning you have to start over in a lot of the controllable aspects of the game. EA is also pushing their cash shop model so they made it stupid hard to ass custom content to the game. It took months after it was released for people to figure out how to make new hair meshes. I'll probably play 4 when it comes out, but I'm prepared to be let down. I still love 3 but I just use it to build. I miss making and playing families but it's so frustrating that I gave up with it.
