A lot of people blame the fact that Sally lived on the comic's decline after issue 50. The truth is that the new writer was really to blame. It just spiraled into an ocean of suck after that and would have even if she'd died.

I feel that Sally is an interesting character whether or not she's involved with Sonic (even though they're my OTP OMG), and I'm glad she lived. Really, I wasn't on the Internet back then and didn't even know they were planning to off her for real.

I keep trumpeting this and people are probably getting sick of hearing it from me now... but GIVE THE COMIC ANOTHER CHANCE. There is a new head writer, a writer from the fandom no less, and he's been doing a superb job IMO.

I was really glad, too, because I love her. But the reason I wished she'd died was because then she wouldn't have to live in said ocean of suck, and said suck would be blamed on her loss instead.
