I didn't pay enough attention to it to realize it was in the same episode (What, I watch for Barrowman, although Felicity is drawing me in) but I did think that was a pretty big dick move. But I think Lauren is boring anyway. (And maybe it's just because I started watching for Barrowman, but it took me at least 2 episodes to figure out which boring brunette was his sister and which was his ex-girlfriend).

I thought they were going to kill him off in the finale and I was bitching to my little brother that I'm so used to him as Captain Jack that it never occurred to me that he might get killed off. :)

Not always...just since the 70s when they started giving him a character of his own. (Well...I suppose for the decade prior, ALL superheroes were self-righteous pricks, more often than not, but that just makes it less of a defining trait for Ollie.)
