I finally saw this movie. I was pretty much bored during 75% of the movie. I don't really care much about Kirk or Spock because I am a bad Star Trek fan. Benedict Cumberbatch's scenes were by far the most interesting to me.

And Bones but that is just because I love him.

I love Kirk and Spock, but Bones definitely steals the show for me.

Definitely, especially Karl Urban's. I especially love how much Karl Urban loves Star Trek (I think he is the only cast member who is a super big fan).

For sure; Karl Urban's really great in the role. I love when he kind of hams it up, and really gets into his classic Bones lines.

John Cho seems to be too! But Karl Urban's Bones is the best. I loved DK's McCoy back in the day too. I wish there were more of him in the most recent movies.

Actually, so does Simon Peg. He's a huge nerd, it's why he went for the role of Scotty.

Bones is my favorite, too! Could definitely have done with more Bones and less of Uhura crying all over the place.

Exactly. I just wanted more Bones...especially in the wetsuit. Karl Urban is in damn good shape. :3

Yes! I've loved him since the good ol' days of Xena, and having him play one of my favorite Star Trek characters has been my favorite part of the new reboot movies.

And Anton Yelchin's Anton Yelchinness. Seriously, in this picture, we have the physical embodiment of adorableness:

I don't even have words for this picture, but thank you from the bottom of my withered, grad student heart, because reading F!S was my designated break from writing this (my last of alllll school) paper, and it has been mostly sad and/or uninteresting tonight, but this. This, dear lord. I feel reinvigorated to go back to writing my depressing paper.

A movie always needs more Karl. I feel like Bones is so underused in new Trek. He does comedic lines, looks angry, chastises Kirk, but that's about it. I think DeForest Kelley's Bones was a lot more nuanced. Karl is spot on with his portrayal tho.

I hate that they don't give him more scenes. In the interviews he is the only one that seems to truly love Star Trek (and can actually name episodes/characters other than the major ones).

I know! He's such a fanboy about it in interviews. He just lights up when people ask him questions about TOS. It's adorable. If JJ is truly out of the picture for ST3, I hope a new director will use him more.

Considering how JJ doesn't really seem to like Star Trek that much, that would be for the best. He can have Star Wars. :X

It makes me so sad to think that Star Trek was just his placeholder for Star Wars. I wish the reboot had gone to a different director/writers. The cast is perfect and what pulls me through the movies. Without them, they'd have nothing, and way less fans.

Yeah me too. :( I don't know who they are thinking of replacing it but hopefully it is someone good who uses 80% less lens flare.

Yeah, lens flare needs to gtfo. At first it was okay, but now I'm just "stop pointing your camera at the god damn sun."

I didn't even know space had that much light!

LOL. Right? JJ continues to fail at directing.

Soon the Star War fans will have him!
