My keyboard is so filthy that it appears to be attracting ants. And yet for two years I haven't been able to bring myself to clean it out, because a little of my dead cat's fur might still be in there, and I can't bear the thought of getting rid of any tiny part of her that remains.

I can't talk about it, but I... I know what that's like, am doing it myself with worse things. I'm so sorry. I hope you can find an alternative way of dealing with the ants.

clean it out, locate the fur, carefully extract and gather the fur, then cover the fur with transparent tape or something to seal it in, and then find a way to stick it to your keyboard on the outside

alternately stick the fur to a new keyboard because if you're attracting ants it's beyond saving

I made connections after interning at the mayor's office but it's been a few months and I know I should send an email or something so I can keep that connection but I just feel awful thinking about it.
Same thing when I'm getting references from people I used to work with years ago. I'd rather text one of my old teachers than call what would be a good reference.

I'm the same way. I always assume I'd be bothering people and that they wouldn't remember me anyway so what's the point. Sigh.
