Yeah, this might be one of the many, many cases where fandom freaks the fuck out and gets into a nerdrage because everything isn't spelled out for them right away. Instead of waiting to see how things are going to unfold the way it does in real life, where you often get people or situations wrong because you aren't seeing everything, and only later get context and expansion.
