I agree with the problematic logistics and it isn't like I would start screaming for it to be made a rule or anything...

I just think a lot of people forget that it isn't just people whom are completely blind who have trouble reading the secrets on F!S, as I mentioned earlier in this thread, I have trouble reading quite a few of the secrets, and I know I am not alone on this forum with this problem (based on earlier discussions).

I generally don't have trouble reading the secrets on this comm, but I do have trouble hearing and a lot of time movies or shows that feature characters with thick accents are incomprehensible to me. Closed captioning is a huge help me in that regard. So I can totally understand the need for accessibility.

Like you, I'm not going to start lobbying for transcription to become a rule, but I do think it's something that would be a nice addition to the comm, perhaps on a volunteer basis. I'd certainly not suggest that Case take on any additional responsibility.

Bad eyes and slightly bad hearing, I feel you!

I can usually manage without subtitles, but sometimes I just go with context to get the dialoge because some idiotic sound guy does not understand that the dialoge has to be louder than the background music...

One of the reasons to why I am as good in English as I am is because when I was younger I could not for the life of me read the subtitles because they where too small, so I had to learn to listen and then I adapted to understanding more dialogue without all the words, and just reading the context instead of the words.

Yeah, I am just trying to make people understand that you do not have to be blind to have problems with the secrets, I will not lobby, heck I just ask when I can't read a secret or alternatively ignore it...

OMG yes! I have a huge problem with music drowning out the actors' voices. I have especially noticed this problem on old DVDs.

Shit, I don't even have hearing problems and DVD sound annoys the crap out of me, old and new. Old DVDs have the music too much louder than the dialogue, and new DVDs have totally inconsistent volume--one second I can't hear the music, and the next it's SCREAMING in my ear.

I hate the inconsistent volume thing. Explosion scene at earsplitting volume followed by heartfelt whispery confession scene. It's aural whiplash. LOL
