As for your actual question: I agree with anon. (Then again I always select text post then add pictures. Tumblr is confusing for me.)

So, you're saying probably the best thing to upload all my photos to tinypic or someplace, do a text post using img src code? Poo. I really liked the not-having-to-copy/paste aspect of tumblr.

No, I don't think that's necessary. If you want to go that route I'm sure it's an option (though I don't think I've tried it), but you can add pictures to a text post directly from the site. (I don't think you can do the same from the app, but the website will allow it.) Doing a text post should allow you to type what you want and insert pictures when you want them.

You know I've just figured something else out that might help you.
If it's a text post you can ONLY upload images from your computer, not use URLs.
If it's a photoset (picture post) you can ONLY insert images from URLs.
Tumblr, why are you like this?????

All my picture posts (from hitting the "photo" button on the tumblr dash) had been uploaded directly from my computer, no url needed?
