True, and I've noticed that small talk here is more user-friendly, if that makes sense. People actually seem to be able to gauge if you would mind, and don't get huffy if you don't engage in return. And will let the conversation drop if you show signs of wanting to be somewhere else. And it seems like it would be seen as really super rude to start talking to someone if they seem occupied, even if "seems occupied" means "probably thinking, leave them alone."

I think there's just a lack of forcefulness when it comes to conversation, and it's nice.
