at least Gus and Mike were under no illusion that they were good people (and I've never seen people in fandom call them good people either but rather they appreciate them as interesting characters and badasses). walt on the other hand still believes on some level that he's just a good guy trying to provide for his family even though he's long past that point. I like all three of these characters in different ways.

also, don't you worry OP there are still plenty of people in fandom who are more than happy to make excuses for Walt's behavior and blame his actions on every other character in the show

I don't think they're worse. I think they're the same. They're all bad, because they all do bad things. Having some sympathetic traits does not automatically make a character "not evil".

Gus was one of my favorite characters because he was a great villain, not because he was "flawless."

Yep, this. I wouldn't call anyone in that show "flawless", but I'm pretty sure that's the whole point.

If you think Walt is a horrible person, but at the same time think Gus and Mike are “flawless” or “HBICs” then I think you’re a hypocrite.

If anything, they’re worse than Walt and lack any sense of moral conflict that Walt has shown.

I don't think anyone thinks that anybody in that show is flawless. That's... not the point of that show.

You haven't been on ONTD then.
