In your opinion, which of these is more fucked up? (Warning: RPS, pedophilia, incest)

So two of my friends are currently having a rather ridiculous argument about which of their pairings is the most creepy/disturbing/wrong and want me to settle it. I'm actually finding it difficult to say although I know it shouldn't be and was curious what you all thought. The pairings are:

1) Two fictional characters, one an adult and one a very young child, who are related. Adult abusing kid=bad, but they're fictional.

2) RPS involving two consenting adults, who are also related. Both consenting adults=good, but they're also real people. Who are related.

Which is worse in your opinion?

How is this even a question? I think you have to try much harder to find something that's more fucked up than child abuse. RPS doesn't even come close to it.

The pedophilia. I try my best to be YKINMK and all, but I can't stand by anything that tries to romanticize abuse. And if it's not portrayed as romantic, then it wins Most Fucked Up by default because abusive pairings are inherently more fucked up than consenting ones. Even if it is somebody's fantasies about real people.

Both are creepy, imo, but one of these things is being done to REAL PEOPLE.

In the end, they're both fantasies, so neither is particularly /wrong/ but of the two, the one that affects real people is slightly worse

that's kind of hot to me. but, uh, I guess other people probably wouldn't agree.

still, I'd rather find people writing RPS about me and another person than find someone writing a fic where a character I play on a tv show is molesting a child. I don't want my face attached to that, even if it is with fictional characters. that's just me though

The first one. By a long shot.

Even though RPS is about real people it's still just fiction in the end. And fiction about two adults in a consensual relationship vs. an adult molesting a child? Yeah... no question.

Fantasy pairing, right? No real life applications in either case? Good.

Neither is better or worse. Just ship what you like, and if it's adult/child, keep your preferences quiet around people who make a show of being vocally judgmental.

The pedophilia. Neither are hurting real people (RPS is, at worse, deeply rude and offensive when shoved in the real people's faces, not a horrific crime), but pedophilia is much more inherently fucked up, hands down.

If you're wondering which is just more conceptually fucked up, it's the pedophilia.

As far as potential "real life implications" goes, then sure, the RPS. There's something about taking two real people and turning their personal lives into fap fodder that squicks the fuck out of me.

If someone did that to me, even a stranger, I would feel violated and I don't think being a celebrity would make me feel any better about it. It might not hurt someone directly, but it's still pretty gross.
