I actually went to see HTTYD in theaters 4 times, so I'm certainly not disagreeing with you.

OP shouldn't confuse "animation" with "animated movie".

(Confession: I didn't actually finish reading it, because I was reading it on a website and lost the link. Time to dig it up again!)

But After Man, Man After Man (which is unfortunately titled, but, oh well), and The Future Is Wild are all awesome.

(Anonymous) 2013-06-07 12:09 am (UTC)(link)I've never gotten around to watching The Future Is Now, yet, though! I should do that.

(Anonymous) 2013-06-07 12:48 am (UTC)(link)But it is entirely possible for people to enjoy multiple things and who knows, maybe this "Future is Wild" book/movie/tv show (????) will bring in more people and you can rec them After Man.
At the least I'm now curious about it :P I already have After Man and it's a bit dated, maybe the Future is Wild will also be interesting

(Anonymous) 2013-06-07 01:44 am (UTC)(link)I hate how this is so overshadowed by The Future is Wild. Even the supposedly in development by DreamWorks movie about it later changed to be about The Future is Wild. I know DreamWorks is not that high regarding the quality of their animation movies but it would at tell me that someone likes After Man better.
S!B: Does that even count as a fandom thing?

(Anonymous) 2013-06-08 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)I have very distant memories of single copy of this book at my old and long since closed primary schools class. Dunno why or how it had gotten on bookshelf back there and then, but even as brat I really enjoyed just leafing through that book and enjoying 'pretty' pictures of animals seven years old me wasn't sure if they even really existed.
I guess what I want to say is that I feel absurdly happy and glad to finally rediscover that book of freaky animals from my childhood.
